Handouts
Obtain PostScript versions of several handouts.

Datasets
ASCII files are available for the following datasets
that are used in the textbook or in homework problems.
- AUTO.
Automobile fatality rates by state for 1974. At issuse is whether the
different minimum legal drinking ages are related to fatality rates.
- BBALL.
Data on baseball attendance as a function of characteristics of both
the team and the city in which the team plays its home games.
- APGAR.
Apgar scores for live births as a function of mother
characteristics.

NURSERY.
School performance measures as a function of nursery school history
and parent characteristics.
- GPA.
First-year GPA for engineering students as a function of SAT scores
and high school rank.
- SAT.
Data from Appendix A of Judd & McClelland (1996). Observations
are from 170 incoming first-year students who responded to a
questionnaire. Variables include self-reported SAT scores and the
actual SAT scores reported to the university by ETS. Also included
are self-reports about various aspects of the student's high school
record.
