Overview

Results of previous studies of the genetics of schizophrenia have not replicated as consistently as one would hope. This lack of consistent results may in part reflect the may in part reflect the complex nature of the schizophrenia phenotype. This study will attempt to dissect the genetics of schizophrenia by using genetic linkage techniques to localize genes that influence specific component cognitive endophenotypes that are associated with schizophrenia, such as deficits in smooth pursuit eye movement.
