Neuroimaging meta-analysis topics
Click "Download" below to download the whole set of images and a description. Corresponding publications are posted in PDF format on the Papers section of this website. Download... a .zip file of Analyze format images for all meta-analyses, and a Word document containing a description of each meta-analysis.Details: Here you can download papers (pdf format) and images from neuroimaging meta-analyses to use as regions of interest or to compare against activation maps from individual studies. Images are provided as Analyze format images (with a .img and .hdr pair of files), and they contain numbers that reflect the density of previous reported peaks within voxels in the standard Montreal Neurologic Institute (MNI) template space (avg152t1.img). Regions not significant in the meta-analyses contain zeros. Please cite the accompanying paper if you find these maps to be useful.
Descriptions of meta-analyses and image filesAlso found in the Word document in the Download file. Emotion meta-analysis, 2008. 163 studies. Wager, T. D., Barrett, L. F., Bliss-Moreau, E., Lindquist, K., Duncan, S., Kober, H., et al. (in press). The Neuroimaging of Emotion. In M. Lewis (Ed.), Handbook of Emotion.
Note. All maps are corrected for multiple comparisons across the brain (gray matter plus boundary). ‘Height’-based correction is based on the proportion of contrast maps with activation, and is the most spatially precise. ‘Extent’-based correction is based on the size of the contiguous region at an arbitrary primary threshold. These results are also corrected for multiple comparisons, but they are less spatially precise. ‘all’ refers to a mask that includes voxels significant with either height- or extent-based correction. Abbreviations: Thresh: Thresholded mask (T) containing significant regions, or unthresholded peak density (U). Random FX: contrast map is random effect (Yes, preferred) or fixed (not preferred).
Anxiety disorders meta-analysis, 2007. 30 studies.
Note on abbreviations. Thresh: Thresholded mask (T) containing significant regions, or unthresholded peak density (U). Random FX: contrast map is random effect (Yes, preferred) or fixed (not preferred). P < .005 refers to the uncorrected voxel-wise p-value threshold.
Inhibition meta-analysis, 2006. 47 studies.
Note on abbreviations. Thresh: Thresholded mask (T) containing significant regions, or unthresholded peak density (U). Random FX: contrast map is random effect (Yes, preferred) or fixed (not preferred).
Attention switching, 2004. 31 studies.
Note on abbreviations. Thresh: Thresholded mask (T) containing significant regions, or unthresholded peak density (U). Random FX: contrast map is random effect (Yes, preferred) or fixed (not preferred).
Emotions meta-analysis, 2003. 64 studies
Note on abbreviations. Thresh: Thresholded mask (T) containing significant regions, or unthresholded peak density (U). Random FX: contrast map is random effect (Yes, preferred) or fixed (not preferred).
Working memory meta-analysis, 2003. 60 studies
Note on abbreviations. Thresh: Thresholded mask (T) containing significant regions, or unthresholded peak density (U). Random FX: contrast map is random effect (Yes, preferred) or fixed (not preferred).
