COURSE GRADING
Your final grade will be based on the scores you obtain on 3
unit exams (100 possible points each) and on a Behavioral Endocrinology
Research Paper (115 possible points; see
below for more information). In
those extreme emergencies when an exam has to be missed a substitute
essay exam can be arranged (only once per
individual) to be taken in its place.
There
will be a total of 415 points possible
for this course:

Each examination will
consist of a combination of short answer, true-false, multiple choice and
matching questions.
The examination
questions will draw upon all of the material covered in class as well as in the
reading assignments; however, the primary focus of the exams will be on
material covered in class.
***ATTENDANCE: I will take attendance each class period. Attendance will be taken into account
for border-line grades and when writing letters of recommendation.
The final letter
grade will be assigned according to the following final percentages, with one
exception. You must score over 60%
on at least 1 exam to pass the course.
Also, note that I believe that a person’s integrity is one of
their most important attributes.
Consequently, I fully support the University’s Honor Code: if I
find that someone has cheated on an exam (e.g. looking at someone else’s
exam) or on the research paper (e.g. plagiarism) I will give that person an
“F” for the course and file a report of academic dishonesty with
the Dean’s office.
