Normal Distribution from Seeing Statistics

Use your mouse to drag either end of the normal distribution to obtain other probabilities and their corresponding areas under the normal curve. This applet illustrates (a) the use of the mouse for direct interactivity and (b) the use of textboxes to obtain keyboard information (indirect interactivity).

This is an example of a large collection of statistical applets available in the online textbook Seeing Statistics by Gary McClelland. Password protection is temporarily turned off at the Seeing Statistics site, so you may examine all the applets. Simply go to

and click on the "Enter" button. Note that this will open a new window. You may want to examine the other example applets at this ATI Java site before going to Seeing Statistics.
