Background:

After you have downloaded and unzipped the SASPairs code, it is necessary to install SASPairs. Follow the instructions below.

Instructions:

1. Download and unzip the SASPairs folders to your computer (how do I do this?).
2. WINDOWS: start SAS in the way that you usually start SAS (e.g., if you usually start SAS by clicking on an icon on your desktop, then click on that icon).
   UNIX or LINUX: change to your home directory and start an interactive session of SAS.
3. Click anywhere in the Editor window.
4. From the menu bar, select File > Open Program.
   
5. Navigate to your SASUSER folder (how can I find out what folder is my SASUSER folder?).
6. Select the folder names "saspairs."
7. Click the Open button.
   
8. Select the file called "install_saspairs.sas" (NOTE: the .sas extension may not show in your window).
9. Click the Open button. The file "install_saspairs.sas" will load into the SAS Editor window.
   
10. Click the Run button to submit this code.
11. Check the Log file to make certain that there are no errors.
    
12. If you want to use batch model (i.e., have SASPairs prepare a file and then submit it to run in the background) or if you want to use SASPairs to convert SPSS data sets into SAS data sets, then Prepare SASPairs for Batch Submission (how do I do this?).
