If I understand your question (which I'm not sure I do), you need to create a
new PatternSpec in your EventSpec in the Environment, and set this
PatternSpec to point at the new output layer. Set its type to TARGET. This
is all described in the manual. The SetToLayer button is very convenient for
this.
