quick question re setting activation values

I'd like to use PDP++ for a quick connectionism demonstration in my class this week.  I'm sending away for the textbook but it won't get here in time.  All I'd like to know is how to set input activation values manually in the demos.  I've gone through the pdp-user.pdf file but haven't been able to find the procedure for doing this.
