One important omission from my previous email (pointed out by Chad
Dawson) -- you also need the gzip.exe program, which you can grab
from:

ftp://grey.colorado.edu/pub/oreilly/pdp++/cygwin/gzip.exe

and you should put it somewhere on the standard PATH for executables,
which presumably includes things like c:\windows and c:\windows\system

If you don't have gzip, you won't be able to save and load files.
