VII. Unusual Contributions in Any Area

Participation on the Committee for the Prevention of Reading Difficulty in Young Children (National Research Council) involved a substantial amount of research and writing, as well as 8 trips to Washington, and four subsequent presentations to national organizations following publication of the report in March, 1998.

Research on the remediation of reading disabilities in the Boulder schools has required a great deal of interaction with and advising of parents, teachers, and administrators. Over 700 children have directly benefited from the research with substantially improved reading scores.
