This course will explore basic developmental principles of the brain
and behavior and their application to understanding the biology of
developmental disabilities. Leading developmental neurobiologists,
neuroscientists and psychologists will present models of typical and
atypical brain development. Students will be exposed to a wide
spectrum of methods currently being used in developmental science
including neuroimaging, computational modeling, and animal models.
All lectures and workshops will take place at the Conference Center.
This course is limited to 20 international fellows and targeted for
upper graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in psychology,
neuroscience, and related disciplines. Substantial scholarship
support for this course is being generously provided by the John Merck
Fund. Applicants must apply for this funding as directed on the Cold Spring
Harbor site.

Relevant papers from the speakers are available for
downloading below. Additional relevant readings can be found in the
special issue of Developmental Psychobiology, which resulted from
the course last year.
